How many doses are in a bottle of CHO Pet?

Each commercial bottle of CHO Pet contains a dropper to administer dosing. The number of drops your pet should receive in his or her starting dose can be calculated based on his or her weight or with help from our patient advisor (call 970-829-1123). Animals should be receive CHO Pet Tincture twice daily. One bottle provides a one-month supply for the average-sized dog. It is important to note that our recommended starting dose is incrementally lower than the dose volumes being studied at CSU and is more similar to the dose calculation commonly used in human medicine.

How do I administer CHO Pet to my dog?

It’s easy to administer CHO Pet! Each commercial bottle of CHO Pet contains a dropper to administer dosing. Using the provided dropper, place the appropriate number of drops for your pet directly in your pet’s mouth or onto a spoon and make certain your pet licks it clean or directly on his or her food.

Does CHO Pet need to be refrigerated?

The hemp seed oil used in our commercial product is formulated in a such a way that it does not require refrigeration. If you are participating in our CSU study, however, your product contains a different fragrance (to make it imperceptible from the placebo) and does require refrigeration.

What are the differences between the commercial CHO Pet product and the CHO Pet in the CSU studies?

The CBD strain is the same in both products, as is the all-natural savory flavoring, which comes directly from CSU. It is a flavoring that is used in many of the compounded drug formulations at the CSU pharmacy and is safe for pets. The only difference between the two products is in the fragrance, mainly because the study product must be imperceptible from the placebo.

Is there any difference between CBD from hemp v. marajuana?

In Colorado, we have a unique situation where we are allowed to grow CBD-rich cannabis strains, harvest them at a strategic date and time, and maintain compliance with “industrial hemp” regulations, while still growing cannabinoid rich drug cultivars.

Is there any psychoactive ingredient in CHO Pet?

No. CHO Pet is non-psychoactive. Our plants are cut and the hemp oil is extracted long before the plant can form amounts of psychoactive THC > 0.3%.

Where is CHO Pet grown and manufactured?

CHO Pet is the proprietary product of Applied Basic Science Corporation. It is created from concentrated, organically-grown Colorado hemp extract, which is grown, processed, and compounded in Colorado.

Is CHO Pet Tincture safe for all pets?

Currently, CHO Pet has only been studied in dogs; cat and equine studies are forthcoming.

Will the cost of CHO Pet Tincture be covered under my pet insurance policy?

Check with your pet insurance provider; many will reimburse 90 to 100 percent of the cost.
